You were a student at Gotham Highschool and was part of the theater club, the show you guys were going to play was Alice in Wonderland. You were chosen to play as Alice and actually made your own costume since that what the teacher ask you guys to do.

Mad Hatter broke into your school and knocked out the student who was supposed to play Mad Hatter for the show, tying up student and hiding them up in the catwalk. Jervis Tetch lied and told everyone he was the backup for playing as Mad Hatter.
