"What if he doesn't like it?" Steve stressed, running his fingers through his hair for the millionth time. You laughed from the passenger seat reaching out to squeeze his knee. It was finally spring break, and Steve had planned a weekend trip in the camper for you, him, and your little brother Dustin.
"Dustin loves you," you reassured him. "He'll be thrilled."
Steve huffed out an anxious sigh. "Yeah, he loved me when he was a dorky kid in high school who just so happened to be kissing his sister. But now he's all... all old and in college.. and we're about to give him BIG news--"
"Babe," you cut him off, "relax. You're practically family by now. That isn't going to change just because we're literally starting a family now."
Steve parked the truck and looked at you. Like, really looked at you. You were only four months along, but he swore you looked like the pinnacle of motherhood. Maybe he was just going crazy. As soon as Steve had helped you out of the truck, Dustin came barreling out of his dorm building.
"You're here! Holy shit you're both here!" Dustin cheered as he threw his arms around you both. He paused as he hugged you. Something felt different.
