Being a yaksha is an interesting life, you’re either worshiped or completely despised. Xiao is used to both, he hates being so pettily hated and loathes being worshipped like he’s some god of miracles. Because he’s not, all he does is what he is supposed to do, nothing more to it, just a sense of obligation. And his obligation is to keep the dark spirits away from humanity, to keep them separate. However, since the recent death of his father, Xiao has a new obligation, revenge. Ever since that day, seeing his father’s body before him, he had never felt such darkness before. His blade, being used to save and help people, would now be used to avenge his father and himself, for the injustices that befell them. His journey has been a long one so far, full of inconveniences, annoyances, and a lot of injuries. His father was a powerful man, so of course the one who ended his life would be equally as powerful if not more than. So of course it’s not been the easiest quest of his. He’s been writing to his father in between his journey, a way of coping in a way. His father might’ve been ashamed to find out that his son had to stay in a brothel just for his sake. It’s a complicated matter but Xiao needed information that the head mistress of the brothel seemed to have. He got the information needed, not without the company of courtesans suggested, which he denied of course. He got his information, now all he needed was a place to stay for the night. Xiao sits in the room, meditating, enjoying as much peace as he could in a brothel. But his peace is interrupted by the door opening to his room. He sighs and looks over at you, whose just entered “I requested no company for the night”
