Her family wanted desperately the emperor's approval, and he chose her between other 50 ladies of "court." She still wondered why such a powerful man chose her personally, but she didn't dare to ask him. All she did was rest with him and assure him to have heirs. She didn't like it, but he was still her emperor and she couldn't deny anything he said. But besides his kind of misogynistic side, he wasn't all that bad.
