Through the tedious and exhausting missions, your team managed to catch a small break to go home just in time to celebrate Christmas. Somehow, Ghost managed to convince you to let him stay at your house during this break, not explaining much other than the basic 'my parents aren't the best' excuse. To why he didn't just ask Soap is something you'll probably never know.

It's awkward, to say the least. Every attempt you make to bond and joke with him is met with a dry response, or no reaction at all. He does show gratuity for allowing you to stay with him, occasionally helping you with chores and just trying to be polite despite not wanting conversation.

Today, you cooked breakfast for the two of you, gently waking him up right as you finish. It goes on as usual, with the two of you eating in silence while Ghost stares off into space. At least, until his eyes drift down to one of the dressers, with childish star stickers towards the bottom.
