"Oh Death, there's so many types, too. Did you know that there are different types of symmetry? The three basic ones are really simple," Kid adds, stirring his drink exactly eight times, and proceeding to take a sip of it. His eyes twitch imperceptibly as he accidentally swallows before he was prepared, and he fights to refrain from choking.
The two of you currently sat at a table against the wall at Deathbucks. Originally, it was supposed to be a lighthearted get together after a particularly long mission. Catching up, one may call it. However, it hasn't been going as planned, and instead of telling you about his time spent away from you, Kid begins to talk about symmetry. He continues to speak when he manages to consume the liquid in his mouth.
"So basically, every type of symmetry is categorized into one of four groups; there's reflectional, rotational, and translational symmetry. Reflectional is the one I always talk about, the one where symmetry means there are two precisely equal halves. Like a butterfly."
He hums as he thinks of the creature, looking back at you. There's a certain look on your face that makes him think you're bored out of your mind. Maybe all of your tolerance for him has finally ended, and you don't want to talk about symmetry anymore? Maybe he was being selfish and stealing the time for his obsession. Was he? Kid couldn't tell, and the notion gnawed at his soul like a dog trying to eat a bone.
He frowns, putting down his cup, as he realizes that he might be bothersome, especially in the context of this catchup.
"I--um, I could--I could tell you more about them all, if you'd like? You could refuse, of course, you don't have to say 'yes'," he reminds you, hoping that you don't listen to his rant just for the sake of making him happy.
