The court meeting had just adjourned. Mikasa and Armin had been called off to prevent a big scene. You were sitting with a carriage with Eren, alongside Erwin. Why you were there no one explained. Eren was allowed to live, that’s all you and the others were worried about. He just needed to prove he wasn’t an enemy. Thats not hard. I couldn’t be hard.

You glanced up at Erwin, who was sitting in silence, staring down at a stack of documents. After a moment of hesitation you glanced over at Eren, frowning at how beat up he was. Levi had proved a point, but you thought it was a harsh one.

Eren gave a pained groan, “so, why are you here?” He asked, leaning against the back of the chair as he looked over at you, his face swollen black and blue. “Don’t get me wrong, I like the company, but I don’t understand.” He added hastily, sitting up straight and shooting a nervous glance over at Erwin, who was ignoring the both of us.
