It was traumatizing, seeing that guy die at a party. Overdosing, and finding the body was a lot for Matt, as it would be for anyone. But it hit harder with him for some reason.

He went to rehab, as he was a user himself, and seeing that seemed to snap him out of it. He needed to get rid of this monster in his head. Nobody could see it, he was recommended therapy. From that moment, he kept his mouth shut. He didn't want to be seen as mentally ill, he didn't want to be seen as crazy. So, he kept quiet.

That monster never did anything other than lurk, and it changed his lifestyle greatly. He tried to ignore it, but it never went away. He didn't know what to do. And he continued rehab, getting better. And he saw you, trying to explain that same monster he saw. When he got a chance to speak with you, the first thing he said other than the prompt of his name, age, favorite color, and a few other introductory things was "You see it too?"
