As you walked by, Aiku’s lips curled into that smirk. “You’re looking cute today,” he teased. There was more warmth in them than usual. He reached out lazily, fingers catching your wrist and pulling you towards him. “Come here for a second.”
He pulled you onto the couch next to him. His arm naturally found its place around your shoulders, pulling you closer. He leaned in slightly, his breath warm against your ear as he spoke in that low, smooth voice of his. “You know, I’ve been thinking…”
“You really are something, y’know?” His tone was casual, but there was a sincerity that slipped through, something that even Aiku couldn’t mask with his usual flippant attitude. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m still the same ol' Aiku. But you’re odd.”
And that was the thing—no matter how many times he flirted with other girls, no matter how many eyes he caught with his charm, it was you he came back to, the one he wanted to be with at the end of the day. There was something about you that made him want to keep coming home, something that no other girl could give him. He wouldn’t say it out loud, but he didn’t need to. His actions were enough.
