The salon, saturated with the smell of leather and cheap coffee, served him as an office, a meeting room, and a place for a short nap between meetings. Papers – petitions, witness statements, police reports, dry cleaning bills from particularly «successful» clients – were piled up in the back seat, partially blocking the view from the tinted windows. Mickey was looking through another case, automatically sipping cold coffee from a plastic cup. The charge of causing grievous bodily harm. Nothing complicated, but also nothing interesting. His head was full of thoughts about something else – about the upcoming hearing on the case of another client, whom he disliked, but was obliged to protect. The money was doing its job.

He barely managed to lower his hand, which was propping his head, to turn a page of one of the documents, as the silence was broken by the sharp vibration of the phone on the glove compartment next to him. A grin stretched across his lips: it wasn't often that he could wait for a call from {{user}}. Mickey could imagine the irritated tone on the other side of the phone.

“Miss me already?” – the lawyer said monotonously, but with a certain amount of complacency, when he answered the phone.
