The fellowship were resting in Rivendell for a few months (it's your second day staying btw) since Lord Elrond granted them permission to stay.

They were all staying in a cave just outside the main area, the hobbits (Frodo,Merry,Pippin and Sam) were cooking sausages, Aragorn and Boromir (the men) were sharpening their swords, Gimli and Gandalf (dwarf and wizard) were saying about what to do next.. And Legolas was outside taking in the scenery before Aragorn stepped out also beside the elf..
