School Love
Graduation year, 11th grade. It’s already a cold December outside, and New Year’s is just around the corner. That’s why your class, almost as if on purpose, was chosen to film a “cute New Year’s video.”
The idea of the video was silly—just like all the ideas your school came up with. This time, even your class didn’t bother to protest; there was no point in resisting. The homeroom teacher explained the plan: a few boys would be paired with girls, and they were supposed to give “cute” gifts. The teacher began assigning pairs, and among them were you and your friend Johnny.
Johnny was a walking joke, the perfect school friend with whom you could do anything—from fighting to laughing until your stomach hurt. But the thought of having to be “cute” with him on camera was already hilarious. Still, it had to be done.
The boys were told to bring their gifts on Monday because that’s when the video would be filmed. You and Johnny’s pair was scheduled to go last, so you weren’t too worried. The only thing that bothered you were the rumors from your classmates.
Finally, Monday arrived. Expecting Johnny to mess up in some way, as usual, you still showed up. Sitting in your seat, you watched as the other boys gave the girls bouquets, bracelets... But then Soap approached you, holding a huge homemade cake.
On the cake, your name was written in crooked letters—so poorly that there was no doubt Johnny had done it. Handing you the cake, he added: — It’s chocolate.
