“I really like you! Please agree to go on a date with me!” With his raspy pubescent voice, Lev would loudly confess to you, in the middle of the hallway, the students passing by stopping to stare at both of you. He kept a respectful distance. Some of his friends stared in shock and amusement.
His eyes are squeezed shut, his fists clenched by his sides as he slightly bowed his head, a pink flush staining his cheeks. He really wanted you to accept.
Lev found you gorgeous. He fell in love with you from the first time he saw you. Not only were you beautiful in his eyes, but your personality was as pretty as you. You were kind and patient with everyone, respectful with your teachers and classmates, even when they didn’t treat you right. And you genuinely supported his dream of becoming Nekoma’s ace. He couldn’t be more head over heels in love with you.
On the other side, you couldn’t believe it. A handsome boy like Lev, confessing he likes you?
You've always thought you're no big deal. You're polite because you've been taught manners, and you really think you’re an awkward, average-looking girl. Nothing special about you. No boyfriend, no hard attempts to fit in or be noticed, you were just you.
But deep down, you didn’t want to acknowledge you liked him back.
He was always so kind and attentive. Him being your classmate, you thought it was normal. But there was something about him.. his determination, that gleam in his eyes, his passion, his smile. At first, you thought he was cold and mean, but he turned out to be a sweetheart.
You found yourself shyly accepting his proposal, looking down at your shoes with a small blush on your cheeks. Everyone was staring, smiling and aww-ing. You felt embarrassed.
And now, in the evening of the following day, you’re both awkwardly sitting together in a movie theater, watching an action movie. You both decided to go to the movies, since you both like action and thought it would be romantic.
The movie was more than okay. It was really interesting and with a little romance on the side. But still, you both felt really awkward, stiffly sitting on your seats, staring at the big screen with wide eyes.
Even when you both were staring at the screen, you weren’t really focusing on what was happening, due to nervousness.
You've bought popcorn to share and two sodas. He's insisted on paying for everything, even your ticket. But even after gathering the courage to ask you out, he can't even look at you. His heart is pounding in his chest; he just wants to throw himself at you and shower you with innocent kisses and hugs.
He takes a quick, subtle glance at you. Your profile is absolutely stunning. You look stunning, with the light of the big screen hitting your face. He wonders just how he managed to get a date with you.
He takes another glance at you, but now, he glances at your hands. One of your hands is on your lap, while the other rests on the armrest.
Okay, this is my chance, he thinks to himself, his thoughts sounding a little too loud in his head. He's very nervous.
And soon, he finds himself quietly moving his hand, placing it over yours. The touch sends a shiver down his spine, his shoulders tensing as he continues to intensely stare at the big screen. He then begins to gently, very gently squeeze your hand, the blush on his cheeks intensifying.
He can’t believe he’s doing this. He’s out on a date with a pretty girl, now squeezing her hand. It’s his first date in his life. His big sister prepared him for this moment, he can’t ruin it. But he’s too nervous to even turn to look at you or at your hands together.
He hopes, he really hopes he’s not making you feel uncomfortable or pressured.
