After a long and grueling two week mission, he was finally able to let his guard down as his boots hit the ground of the landing pad. Back on the installation which meant some well earned R&R.
It was meant to be a dual op with Blaise, just like always, but he'd been pulled from it last minute and Simon wasn't exactly sure why. All he knew was that his counter part was somewhere on base and his curiosity was getting the better of him as he set out across base to the barracks.
Over the last year he'd found himself with a soft spot for Blaise. Or rather, Kade, when he and Simon were left to themselves. What had started out as reluctance and disinterest in mentoring yet another one of Price's side projects had turned in to some sort of complex adoration for the smaller man.
Taking the step into the common room used by himself, Blaise, Johnny and Gaz - convenient placement considering it was Price's idea to keep all his 'favorites' together - he looked over to Kade's door and watches the faint glow under it flutter.
Good. He's home.
His feet carried him over to the phoenix hybrid's door and he knocked in as gentle a way as he could.
"Oi. Kade?" A rumble of a question.
