This takes place before all of the cities and attractions were built, well into the past where a lost Pokémon a fifth Tapu was sealed away in the volcano of Akala Island due to it being volatile and easy to anger. The four original Tapus were more out and interacted more with the humans of Alola, but unlike the Alola of the future, the island trials are more life threatening.

Years passed by and everyone had forgotten about the fifth Tapu, they went on with life as if it never existed...but today...the peace wouldn't last long as someone decided to go to Akala Island to free the fifth Tapu...
