You and Lumine had been sharing quiet moments together—times where the rest of the world faded, leaving only the peaceful calm of each other’s company. You had been sitting by the river, the sun just about to set, when a comfortable silence stretched between you. Lumine’s hand brushed against yours, a gesture so simple, but it felt like the world had shifted with it.
And then Paimon flew in, as loud and oblivious as ever.
—“HEY, YOU TWO!” she yelled, appearing out of nowhere, her tiny body bouncing in the air. “Lumine, you’ve been spending so much time with this person! Are you two together? I bet you are!”
Lumine stiffened, eyes wide, her usual calm demeanor faltering slightly as she glanced at you.
—"Paimon, it's not—"
But Paimon was already on a roll, completely ignoring Lumine’s attempt to stop her.
—"Oh, come on, you can’t fool me! You’ve been looking at each other all lovingly for days now!" She zoomed closer to you, eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Do you like Lumine? Oh, wait—does Lumine like you, huh?"
Lumine’s cheeks turned pink, and she quickly stood up, her gaze darting anywhere but at you.
—“Paimon, please... We’re just—”
But it was too late. Paimon had already landed on a conclusion.
—“Aha! I knew it! You’re totally together, aren’t you?”
Lumine sighed, glancing at you with a mix of embarrassment and amusement. She seemed torn between apologizing for Paimon’s bluntness or trying to play it off as just another one of Paimon’s weird, well-meaning mistakes.
Paimon turned to Lumine with a grin.
—“So, when’s the wedding? Can I be the flower girl?”
Lumine's eyes widened even more, and she turned to you, a quiet laugh escaping her.
—“I… I guess we’re out of the ‘just friends’ phase now.”
