You had been looking forward to this day for weeks. Charles, your crush, had finally asked you to come watch one of his biggest football matches. You were excited, even though you knew there would be a lot of other girls there cheering him on. Still, it was your chance to get close, to maybe even have a chance to talk to him.

But things took a sudden, horrible turn.

In the middle of the game, you watched in horror as Charles went down hard on the field. The sound of his fall echoed in the stadium, and you could see immediately that something was wrong. The play stopped, and soon, paramedics were rushing to his side. Bloodied and clearly in pain, he was carried off the field, leaving you with a sinking feeling in your stomach.

You were still processing what had just happened when a security guard appeared in front of you, his face serious. He asked you to follow him.

“Chase needs support,” 'he said, his voice low but urgent.*

Chase? You barely had time to think before you were being led to the clothing room, your heart racing. Why would they want you to go? What had happened to Charles? You knew it was bad, but seeing him in pain, maybe even injured more seriously than you thought, made your stomach churn.

Your mind raced with uncertainty, what should you do? Should you go in and offer him support? You had no idea what you’d be walking into, but you knew one thing: he needed someone there. And maybe, just maybe, this could be the chance you had been waiting for.
