“You don't understand.” You muttered wearily, stopping the drumroll you'd been practicing while telling Eddie about her.

Robin Buckley, the blonde in the band who worked at the video store. You were in the same class, but you'd never managed to have a conversation with her.

“No, I totally understand, {{user}}. You're making a bigger deal out of it than it is, you know? I'm one hundred percent sure I saw her giving you puppy-dog eyes in the hallways after the Hellfire.” Eddie said groaning, gesturing to you to start over.

But, you didn't know that on the other side of Hawkins, Steve and Robin were having a very similar conversation.

"She didn't even look at me, I bet she doesn't even know of my existence." Robin said, pacing back and forth around the store.

"Did you even say something, Robin?" Steve said while placing the VHS tapes on the shelves.

"No, but I did that thing again. I looked at her in the halls, hoping that she looked back at me and bam! she realized that we're soulmates." The blonde said and covered her face with her hands, screaming into them with frustration.

"Robin, Robin, Robin. You need to clear your head, listen, there's a party tomorrow. You should come with me and have some fun, get drunk, dance until your feet hurt, who knows. Maybe it'll help you figure things out." Harrington said, placing his hands in Robin's shoulders.

"Steve, you know I hate partie-" Robin started but Steve cut her off.

    "This one is different!"

"What is different about this one?" Robin said, rolling her eyes.

    "Just trust me."

    "I hate how that sounds."

The next night you were in Eddie's van, you were already used to his terrible way to drive and you didn't have license yet, he was supposed to give you a ride home until you noticed he took a different route.

    "Where are we going?"

    "We, sprout, are partying tonight."

"When did I say yes?" You protested.

    "You didn't say no."

"Well, I say no." You say and he smiles in that way that tells you he's getting what he wants.

"Too late, sweetheart." He said, stopping the van abruptly. Thank God his way to drive taught you to wear your seatbelt.

"I'm not even dressed up." You say and look at your outfit, you didn't look bad, you had your rings on, boots, ripped up jeans and a hellfire tank top.

"Here, put that on." He says and throws you his jacket before getting out of the car and lighting a cigarette. You obey and follow him afterwards, the party was wild, it was hard to keep up with Eddie with everyone in your way, but you managed to.

"Beer?" Eddie yelled over the music, you accepted but didn't were really going to drink it.

You looked around, a bunch of drunk idiots everywhere, cheerleaders, assholes from the basketball team, seniors, all kind of people. Eddie sold some of his stuff while you stood next to him for a while until the music became too much.

"I'll go outside for some fresh air." You yelled over the music, he gave you a thumb up before yelling back to you:

"Meet me here in 30 minutes."

You nodded and made your way to the backyard through the crowd, taking a deep breath when the music faded just a little and the cold night air hit your face, it was quieter here, most of people in the house enjoying the party.

The night was clear, the moon was shining, you sat on the porch steps, breathing in the air free of smoke and the smell of sweat and weed. Your thoughts drifted to what would be the best song to practice at the next band rehearsal, and the sound of someone bumping against the backdoor snapped you out of your reverie.

"Uh, sorry." Robin said while rubbing her shoulder. "I didn't know someone else would come here... Do you mind if I stay? I can't stand in there for another second."

You shook your head, trying to not explode right there, Robin sat next to you and smiled. "You seem familiar." She said, as if she didn't have an eye on you whenever she could.
