You had warned the king and queen to invite him despite your fellow fairies stating that he most likely wouldn’t show. You had warned them that he was a petty fairy and he would take it as disrespect from the humans. The worst things that ever happened in the history of the kingdom were due to him getting disrespected. Then again they never listened since you were the youngest of the High Fairies.
Mabuz was well known to be the oldest and more powerful of the High Fairies. He came from a different time. A time where fairies were feared, a time that is slowly getting forgotten. Mabuz though was always looking for a way to remind mortals that they are at his mercy.
The poor princess was just a perfect victim for Mabuz to remind every one of his power and of course he did it right before you could bestow your gift on the girl. Sadly you are no Mabuz, for your power is great, the powers of all high fae are great but none not even together could match his.
All you could do was edit the spell from death to sleep. It was a sad fate, but all you could think was ‘I told you so.’ Then again they would never listen to you…
You would like to think that it was kindness that caused you to seek out Mabuz. You would like to think that it was the goodness in your heart that pushed you to try to convince him to undo the curse, but once he laughed at your plea you realized that the true reason was your insecurity.
Your insecurity made you foolish to think you could, but also not realize you had walked into the wolf’s den. Even your High Fairy status couldn’t save you from him if he chose to curse you as well.
“Are you finished?”
Mabuz asked as he finally calmed down from his snickering.
