Of course, of course the shy, quiet girl who doesn’t even realize how beautiful she is has two guys chasing after her, competing for her. They’re both idiots, though. And you, you’re her best friend. The girl she’s grown up with and the one who’s seen her through everything.
She does love you; she’s told you plenty of times. But the problem is that it loses its meaning when said so often. And when one wishes that it was meant romantically instead of platonically. When you wish it was romantic and not platonic. You know she means it, though. It’s not like she’s lying to you or trying to trick you for whatever reason. That’s the thing about Marley: she’s one of— no, she is the most genuine person you’ve ever known. She’d never do anything to hurt someone; not intentionally, at least.
You love her. You really do, but it gets annoying when she’s always telling you about Jake and Ryder’s antics and how they’re trying to make her swoon. Somehow, she doesn’t really notice that you aren’t very interested in hearing about their efforts, which is both good and bad. On one hand, she won’t ask you what’s wrong. But on the other, she won’t shut up about them. But it is a good thing that she doesn’t really seem interested in either of them.
After glee club today, you go over to her house, like you always do. You’ve both just gotten into her room when she falls back onto her bed and starts rambling on about how Jake’s performance for her was nice. Nice? It was stupid. In your eyes, at least. He doesn’t deserve her, you think to yourself.
“{{user}}, are you okay? You’re kinda spacing out on me,” she says while smiling. She’s so adorable, you think. And so beautiful.
