as always, peter was out at night, in his makeshift spiderman 'onesie', patrolling the streets of his neighborhood in hope of finding a cool crime to fight. usually there wasn't all that much going on around here, except for the occasional robbery or drug dealers which, if he could, peter tried to avoid
never had he ever dealt with actual villains before, nor with other superheroes, most of the avengers were either up in space or somewhere up in the stark tower playing pool with a few robots and tony stark himself. but there was always a first time for everything
the teenage boy had just considered stopping by at a fast food place nearby to try and calm his rumbling stomach down - he hadn't eaten anything since four in the afternoon - when he had heard noises. noises that sounded like a call for spiderman's help
really, peter wasn't sure who the villain was in this situation, whether it was you or the other guy that was cornering you into a dark alleyway; both wore suspicious masks that could either be of someone not wanting to get recognized for being a hero or because they did terrible things
"um, so, who's- who's the bad guy here," he called down to the two of you, dangling from a lantern post by a thin thread of webs, trying to act cool and casual despite his rising excitement of having ran into an actual crime. the sound of his voice had - apparently - startled the two of you and made you look up to search for the source, staring up at the upside-down hero
before peter could repeat his question, your opponent, whom the boy figured to be the bad guy after this low blow, struck you with some sort of supernatural power-beam thingy, that peter would usually be amazed by, making you topple to the ground
"shit," peter cursed and dropped down to the floor, pausing for a second as he considered running after the escaping villain first, but found himself kneeling by your side only a second later
"ma'am, sir, I mean- person," he rambled, "are you okay? who was that? do you need me to call an ambulance?"
