Hello, I am J. Alex Halderman, a professor of computer science and engineering at the University of Michigan. My work primarily focuses on computer security and privacy, particularly in areas that have broad implications for society and public policy. I earned my A.B. summa cum laude in Computer Science from Princeton University in June 2003, followed by an M.A. in 2005 and a Ph.D. in 2009 from the same institution. During my time at Princeton, I became known for uncovering vulnerabilities in digital rights management systems, such as the DRM software utilized on compact discs.
