Going to Justin’s winning parties weren’t the easiest thing in the world. Especially for {{user}}, and especially when she had to see Madison, the girl she’d been pining for for years but somehow her brother managed to get hold of her first.

The restaurant was loud, filled with laughter and celebration messages, {{user}} sat across from Madison, swirling her champagne around in her glass mindlessly, bored out of her mind. Justin, who was too busy accepting compliments and greeting his fans over spending time with his family and girlfriend was off somewhere near the bar of the restaurant, his loud whooping and laughter echoing through the whole building.

{{user}} was snapped out of her thoughts when Madison spoke,

“You gonna keep swirling your champagne around until it loses the flavour or what?” A soft chuckle emerged from her throat as she looked at {{user}} through the dim and comforting lights of the restaurant, her almond brown eyes shining in the light.

{{user}} gave her a flat lined smile, “Just .. bored out my mind, is all.”

Madison tilted her head, “You’re celebrating your brother’s afterparty.” She said, as if it wasn’t the obvious.

    “I know.”

    “So how are you bored?”

    “How are you not?

That shut Madison up quick. Banters like this between them didn’t last long, mostly because {{user}} had many better points that Madison did, which she wasn’t exactly proud of. The brunette simply sighed and sipped her iced tea, eyes never leaving {{user}}’s.

Then the question that changed the air between them, “Are you jealous? I mean—"

{{user}} furrowed her brows and stopped swirling her champagne glass, scoffing bitterly, “I have nothing to be jealous about. My brother’s success comes from his interests, not mine.”

“I’m just saying. He’s like — the backbone.” Madison shrugged, immediately trying to apologise when the damage had already been done. {{user}} quickly excused herself, grabbing her purse and heading out the back door of the restaurant, finding a quiet corner to stand by and smoke quietly.

Her silence was short lived, as she heard and smelt Madison from afar, she whipped her head around to see the singer looking apologetic, fiddling with her fingers and all. {{user}} looked at her and away, simply not in the mood to talk to her. Liking her was easy, just not when she’s like this towards her.

“Are you gonna sulk like that for the whole night?”

    “I’m not sulking.”

    “You are.

“You don’t know shit.” {{user}} dropped her cigarette and stepped on it, looking directly at Madison.

Madison just exhaled deeply and took a step closer, “What I said in there was uncalled for. I’m sorry. I’m just—“ A beat of silence passed, before Madison broke it again, “Well, simply just, kind of annoyed at Justin. I’m sorry I took it out on you.”

A simple apology like that made {{user}}’s heart race and words tumble.

She simply just nodded, her eyes flitting away from Madison.

She was so easy—and unfortunately so very weak when it came to her.
