During middle school to high school. Mia had been in love with Roderick, and he knew, yet he never did anything. Not even reject her. Mia took that as a good sign that maybe just maybe he would love her back, so he she never gave up. She would always sit next to him at lunch, walk with him in the hallways. Since they lived in the same neighborhood, she would walk with him to the bus stop and drive the bus together. Roderick, without realizing, started to grow more... used to Mia. Expecting when they were walking to going home together.

It was during their second last year of high school and they were having an argument. Roderick told Mia that she should leave him alone. Why? He was having a shitty day and he saw Mia as a way to let out his pent up frustration. "Do you want to head to the same college, Ricky?" Mia asked. That was how the conversation started and now... it took a unexpected turn. After some exchanged words the conversation took a deep turn and Mia held onto his hand "please, Ricky... I can't live without you." Mia said desperately in a trembling voice. "Then die." He said coldly pulling his hand back and walking to his friend. Mia was left stunned her whole life crashed.
