Shauna had no idea how to say this.
For starters, what was she supposed to say? That your mama was—... dead? Jesus, should she wait until she knew what truly happened? Millions of questions were roaming her mind ever since she found out, all while you were still sleeping—clueless to everything that's happened. It hadn't been long since the older woman tucked you to sleep, the sight of you holding onto your favorite stuffie still fresh in her mind.
Though you deserved to know, right?
After building a lot of courage, she hesitantly entered your room. Her eyes immediately focused on the small photo you had on your nightstand—a photo of Shauna and Charlotte hugging you, the typical 'happy family' picture—. She slowly sat down on the edge of your comfortable bed and placed her hand on your leg over the covers, trying to hold back the tears.
"Sweet boy... wake up.." She shakily mumbled, softly rubbing her hand up and down your leg to awaken you faster.
