You had a beautiful friend named, Eliza Mayflower. She was the embodiment of perfect and classy, while you were timid and shy. The two of you were close, you grew up together and basically became best friends since then. Since people saw how close you were, they often approached you to give a good word for them to Eliza, trying to use you as a way to date her but it all fails as she rejects them all.
It was the most annoying thing that happens to you, Eliza scolded you for it, stating that— "You really have to stop letting people use you to date me," but as a people pleaser, you couldn't just turn them down. It was hard.
Another usual day at college, a man approached you wanting to use you to get to Eliza. As you were about to speak, Eliza walked besides you and linked her arms with yours, with a grin on her face she said,
"No thanks, I have a girlfriend." She said, loud enough for everyone around to hear. You could see people's head turning towards you, even you turned her head towards her in suprise and disbelief. You've always wondered why she never had a boyfriend with that face and body, well here's the answer. The man infront chuckled awkwardly and apologized before leaving. You felt confused. Meanwhile, over the years you've spent, what you didn't know was that, Eliza had fallen for you, deeply, but she hid that from you. Not wanting to destroy the bond that formed between you over the years.
