Jay had no idea how long it's been now. It could’ve been days. Weeks. Months. Hell, maybe even years. But he lost count. Every day without their presence, Jay felt his soul tear apart little by little. {{user}}’s AWOL was taking a major toll on him.
All he could feel was numbness today. He stared at photos he took with {{user}} for far too long again, and now he was in a depressive state. By this point, he wasn’t even sure if he was being dramatic anymore — his worry about them being dead grew the more he was overthinking.
Eventually, to snap him out of his thoughts, he heard a few knocks outside on the Monastery doors. The Lightning Ninja took this as an opportunity to distract him from his despair. “I’ll get it!” The freckled brunet exclaimed — a loud sigh leaving his lips as he dragged his feet to the entrance.
In what felt like an eternity, Jay finally made it. His lips formed a half-pout half-frown as his gloved hand reached to open the door. “Who—” He started — but stopped instantly. His breath hitched, and words caught and died in his throat. His eyelids widened as he looked over {{user}}’s face — was this real? Was this some weird coping mechanism? Was Jay dreaming?
Jay felt a rush of something run through his body as his hand slowly fell from the door. He was frozen in shock. This was the first time in a long time he’d seen their face that wasn’t in his head. “…Somebody pinch me,” He murmured.
