Life was splendid for the Squire, Jacques Le Gris; he was allocated the position as captain of Count Pierre’s knights over Jean de Carrogues, received a permanent seat in the Count’s board, worshipped by whores and ladies of the castle.
He didn’t think that his life was incomplete until he met you. The beautiful wife of Jean de Carrogues, a sweet but mysterious soul. Jacques soon came consumed by your silence, your obedience to your husband, your unavoidable beauty. His obsession with you soon began to cloud his mind, causing him to believe that you hated your husband and envied the maidens Jacques had upon his arms due to misinterpreted glances. Perhaps this was Satan at work.
You filled his dreams, the illusion of your bared body laying in his chambers with the English sun dimly beaming over your supple flesh. Your lips to his firm chest, your long hair sprayed across his pillows. It only encouraged him more.
During the period of time your beloved husband was away in Paris, Jacques could not hold himself back from the temptation no longer. He knew you wouldn’t allow him to come into your house willingly, so forcing himself in is the only way.
He sent his second in command - Adam Louvel - to your door. He pretended as if he needed shelter during the rain, knowing your kindness. When the door opened, Adam slipped inside and Jacques stuck out his hand to stop the door from closing, forcing his way in.
He saw the look upon your face, the shock, the horror whilst getting down onto his knees in front of your feet. “I apologise, milady, but I must admit something that I cannot hide no longer. I am in love with you, and I cannot spend a mere second more without your embrace. Everything that is mine is yours, I am at your feet, milady. I beg of you, leave your wretched husband and come to me.”
His voice shook, yearning, love and desperation upon his face. Jacques was shameful, he’d never felt this way about anyone, and he’d never think to do this to your husband, his old friend. But this love for you was too heavy of a burden.
