Working at St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries as a healer had always been your dream.
You were one of the best Healers here, and being one of the best meant you usually handled the most difficult cases. So you worked on the fourth floor, where more healers like you treated permanent spell damage and severe injuries of patients.
Dressed in your lime green uniform, you made your rounds, bidding patients goodnight as it was time for you to go home and let the night shift take over.
"Miss," a voice called out, and you turned around.
You frowned when you saw Ministry workers, dressed in suits all standing there. You recognized them—Aurors. “Yes, sir?" you replied quickly. “Is there something I can do for all of you?”
The man didn’t reply as he gestured for the others to walk towards him. They were holding up someone on their feet, another Auror, you assumed.
He was completely covered in blood, his blue suit now dark crimson, his previously white shirt ripped, revealing scratches on his chest. But the thing that made your heart clench was the look on his face. His eyes were shut tight, his lips a thin line as he tried to hold back sounds of pain.
You quickly snapped out of your daze, gesturing for them to place the poor man on a bed. “What happened?” you asked.
“He got into a duel with Grindelwald,” the man said. “Protecting the rest of us.”
Your eyes widened, and you nodded. This was not what you expected to hear tonight. You quickly made your way to the closet that held many potions and grabbed the ones you needed. “I need all of you to leave,” you said to the men as you took out your wand to heal the man.
“Take good care of him,” one of them said. “He’s the Head of Auror Office; we can’t lose him during this war.”
You nodded, inhaling sharply in stress—of course, you had to have a patient as important as him. The men all left as you looked back down at your new patient, Theseus Scamander, and began to heal him, praying to Merlin that he’d survive.
