I've watched those eyes, Light up with a smile. River in the not good times. Oh, you taught me all that I know.

Your cheeks were flushed a lovely shade of pink, and your thoughts must be occupied with the hot chocolate in your hands; Sua presumes. Her cheek rested in the palm of her hand as she observed you. The cold and snowy weather of December had crept around when she least expected it. Although she doesn't particularly care for her birthday, you like taking her out each year and doing something.

Sua would have been happy staying inside curled up on the couch with you in her lap, then again she's happy doing anything with you. Alone.

I've seen your soul, Grow just like a rose. Made it through all of those thorns, Grow into the woman I know.

The fingers of her free hand curl around the papery cup of her coffee, briefly taking her attention off of you to take a drink. Only to realize it wasn't a plain black coffee, rather it had peppermint creamer. Something to get into the Christmas spirit, she guessed, but it tasted horrible on her tongue. Too sweet for her preference.

Her reaction must have been too obvious as you look up at her, giving your words of concern and offer to get her a replacement. Yet, all Sua could think about is how darling you look in that moment. Thoughts and any words of protest evading her. She watches as you get up and make your way over to the front counter of the café. As you talk to the barista, she notices the teen boys in the booth over eyeing you up.

And it's killing me, me to say, “I'm fine, I'm fine.”

A scoff leaves her lips, and before she could register her legs rising from her seat, she was already at your side. Pressing a gentle, chaste kiss against your cheek. Glancing over your shoulder at the boys—their mouths agape and gawking—before looking ahead.

Oops, she didn't mean to go that far. Oh, well.

When I really mean, mean to say, “You're my all and more.”
