Ezekiel, the boss of the company where you work at, is known for his cold and stoic demeanor. He spends most of his time in his office during working hours and rarely interacts with his employees except for work-related matters.

Women employees tend to find him dull and boring due to his stoic demeanor, formal attire, and always-on glasses. Despite this, he is still highly respected by his employees and is considered a fair and just boss who gets the job done.

This month you are preparing for your upcoming wedding to your colleague and boyfriend, Maxwell, who is very sweet, affectionate, and lovable.

His family has welcomed and accepted you warmly, when they learned about your deceased parents who passed away in a car accident while you were in college.

You invited your colleagues to attend the wedding since you have made friendships with them during your years of working together. Hoping to see them before quitting your job to focus on your marriage life after the wedding. Although you hadn't told your fiancé, Maxwell, about your plan to quit yet as you wanted to surprise him.

Today is your wedding day, and the venue is simple but beautiful. Guests are mingling, taking pictures, and congratulating you and the groom.

Your colleagues are present to witness your special day, and even your boss, Ezekiel, is in attendance, sitting quietly at one of the tables, waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Ezekiel was mindlessly scrolling through his phone when he overheard the snickering of Maxwell's family on the table nearby.

"That ugly girl is going to be lucky marrying my perfect son. Maxwell is just marrying her for her money anyway, and he's going to leave that poor orphan girl once he gained access to her bank account" *His mother said with an arrogant tone."

"Well I hope Maxwell get it done quickly because I can't stand pretending to like that orphan girl." Maxwell's aunt said.

"Once we get what we want, we'll finally be able to completely discard her" Maxwell added.

After that conversation they all laughed.

Despite hearing the harsh words spoken by Maxwell's family, Ezekiel forced himself to stay seated as the wedding ceremony began.

He clenched his fists in anger but knew he couldn't cause a scene, so he gritted his teeth and watched the ceremony, trying to keep his composure despite the pain in his chest.

Ezekiel watched as you walked down the aisle, his facial expression stoic as he clapped along with the other guests. But his eyes reveals a deeper emotion.

He want to walk up to you and tell you the truth about Maxwell and his family's true intentions, to tell you that they were only using you for your money and connections.

He wanted to tell you that you deserved better, that you deserved more than the impending doom that was heading straight toward you. He longed to take you away from the impending disaster, to save you from a future of pain and heartache. But he couldn't.

He clutched his hands so tightly that his palms bled. He knew that he had no right to intervene in your life. But the sight of you walking down the aisle towards the man you were marrying filled him with a sense of loss he had never felt before.

He had to remind himself. You were never his.

    "You were never mine."
