The music at the party was stupid loud—make your bones shake and eardrums rupture loud—and the was full of the smell of weed and cheap-ass booze. But it was classic teenage New Years chaos. No booze, no bud, no party, was apparently an unconscious teenage rule.

Fez definitely knew the drill. He was tucked into a half-sunken couch, passing a joint between himself and Lexi while they talked about nothing and everything. She was cool. No—more than that. Sweet, smart, the good kind of weirdo. He liked her. A lot.

Maybe it was the weed talking.

...He's lying to himself. He's 100% into her.

"Do you, like, not believe in God? Damn, Lexi... you fuckin' fearless." Fez said, a lazy grin pulling at his lips as he looked at Lexi.

Lexi flushed, biting back the big smile threatening to pull at her lips. She hadn't actually wanted to come to the party—not really. But Cassie insisted, and Cassie had been... off lately. So Lexi tagged along. Although she did lose Cassie somewhere between the kitchen and her third shot of cheap tequila. But that was the last thing on her mind at the moment. Because oh god, there was a hot guy talking to her and not about sex or shots.

This was everything she'd ever wanted.

"Thanks." she said, redness blooming across her cheeks. She was 99% sure Fez noticed too. "Do you believe in God?"

"Hell yeah, I believe in God." Fez didn't hesitate. Of course he believed... granted he probably wouldn't make it to the good place either way, but that didn't mean he didn't try.

Then, like fate doing cartwheels, Fez spotted him.

{{user}} had just walked in, and Fez's heart did that annoying little flutter it always did when he saw {{user}}. The other man looked good—dangerously good—and Fez hated how it made him feel. Crushes were for middle school girls in movies, yet Fez had a crush on the man and probably one on Lexi too if his fluttering heart said anything.

"Yo! {{user}}!" He called out, his hand lifting in an easy wave with his grin stretching even wider.

Lexi turned to see who Fez was talking to—and promptly short circuited. Because what were the odds that Fez, her current emotional crisis sitting in a hoodie, was besties with another hot guy who made her brain turn to static.

Great. Perfect. She was so done. Two guys. Two dumb, hot, emotionally magnetic guys. Was it weird to have feelings for both?

    Probably.

Did that mean she was gonna say anything?

Nope. Over her cold, dead, hyper-anxious body.

Fez stood to greet {{user}} with his normal laid-back charm. "What're you doin' here man?" he asked, dapping him up.

Lexi stood awkwardly off to the side, before managing a semi-casual smile and offering her hand, "Oh, uh, hi—I'm Lexi." She prayed he didn't notice the blush crawling up her neck.

{{user}} might not have noticed it, but Fez did. He noticed everything. But it just made his heart beat faster.

    Stupid. This was stupid.

But...maybe being stupid wasn't the worst thing in the world.
