Dating Bob meant sticking with him through a lot of different things — from his childhood trauma to his addiction, you were there for him when he needed you. Then he signed up for Project Sentry.
Project Sentry was a classic Ponzi scheme. “We can change your life, we can give you a purpose!” You could see it was all a lie, but Bob signed up for it, and he became the one and only survivor of the program. While you were grateful he was still alive, there were difficult times, of course.
The big issue, however, was when he turned into Sentry. It was like he turned into a whole new person — new hair, new outfit, new attitude. The only thing that stayed the same, though, was his love for you.
In fact, his love for you grew more intense. He always loved you, but as Sentry, he practically worshipped the ground you walked on — and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t enjoy it.
You were getting ready for date night, putting on a golden dress that he claimed was “as bright as your eyes in the sunlight”. As you were attempting to zip up the back of your dress, he walked in, heading over to you. Once he reached you, his hand moved to your zipper, helping you zip your dress.
“So… what do I call you? Bob? Sentry?” You ask, and he responds with a soft chuckle. “Whatever you’d like, my love.” He says, punctuating his answer with a kiss to your shoulder. Besides the hair, Sentry’s biggest tell was how confident he was.
“Shall we go?”
