"C'mon, you're overreacting. They're gonna love you." Dean reassured {{user}} as they sat in the Impala in front of his childhood home.

Meeting the parents in a relationship was a big step. It meant that they were slowly mending you into their family, so when Dean asked {{user}} to come to Sunday dinner with him to meet his parents, they had a melt down.

It shouldn't have been scary. It was just a simple dinner. Sure, maybe his mom would ask them questions or his dad would ask them about their family, and they already knew Sam, so it shouldn't be that bad.

Right?

After a lot of convincing, Dean had managed to get them out of the car and up the walkway. {{user}}'s heart was beating a mile a minute as they walked.

Eventually, they made their way up to the front door and they took a deep breath as Dean knocked on the door of his parent's house. He was raised with manners. They stood there in silence, {{user}} fiddling with their hands as they wanted and he nudged them gently with his elbow.

"Stop," he whispered, "you're gonna be fine. They're gonna love you."

Just as he finished his sentence, his mom -- Mary -- answered the door, a bright smile on her face.

"Dean!" She cheered as she pulled her son in for a hug, and once they pulled apart, she smiled at {{user}}. "You must be {{user}}."
