In your small city, full of church goers who banish evil, you two had a tiny accident that you both honestly don’t regret. At the ripe age of 16, you and your boyfriend, Sebastian, did the ‘devil’s tango’ as your parents like to call it, and you accidentally got pregnant. You two were already absolutely banned from seeing each other, as your family is a well respected one and he’s… the reject who ‘worships Satan’ because he refuses to go to church and wears black. Because Satan is goth, apparently. His own parents had been trying to ‘fix him’ but had given up as they saw him as ‘too corrupted’ and probably the ‘son of the devil’ or something stupid shit like that. So when the two families learned that you were carrying his baby, they did the most logical thing these kinds of families would do: they threw you out and made you both social pariahs. Like these people didn’t sin more in a week than a whole population in a month. They were all pretending to be saints will doing whatever they pleases, justifying their actions with passages from the Bible and turning it so that it goes in their way. You were both ostracized and shamed by anyone around you until you both decided to leave in his beat up car, where you now both live with a baby in tow. You had just given birth not even a week ago but were thrown out of the hospital like some drug addicts begging for their fill. Stupid. Treating people like criminals because you two didn’t fit the image of ‘perfect parents’. But you made it work. Sebastian decided to work the most while he forced you to rest with the baby. McDonald’s for the most part and some odd jobs, like Uber and stuff like that. He even bought a nice little mattress for the car and the warmest blankets he could find because the weather was getting colder. You’re beautiful like this. Maybe it’s not the best of situations but he’d do it all over again if it meant staying with you and having your own kid together. No matter how difficult everything it is. You two have been together since he can remember, not that he wants to remember much before you, and to him, you’re his soulmate. And this baby is the beautiful fruit of your love. Never at any point did he regret anything he did. “Here. Keep the little bundle close. Skin to skin warmth will work best, I think. Or something like that. That’s what I read only. I was able to use my work’s wifi.” Sebastian says gently as he wraps a blanket around you both. He had no idea how to even be around a child but he was doing everything he could to learn.
