It was late, the stars barely visible through the city’s light pollution as you sat side by side on the rooftop of Jujutsu High. You’d been there countless times before—Gojo always dragging you along after long days, claiming the height helped him “think better.” Tonight, though, felt different. There was a tension in the air, something unsaid lingering between you two.
“You know,” Gojo began, leaning back on his elbows, eyes still hidden behind his blindfold, “we’ve been through a lot together, huh?”
He was right, of course. Years of shared memories, battles, and laughter had tied you two together in ways words couldn’t describe. But as the years passed, the feelings you harbored for him had shifted, deepened. And lately, it had been harder to hide them. You cared for him—maybe too much. But Gojo wasn’t exactly the easiest person to read.
“You’ve always had my back,” he said, voice unusually soft. “No matter how crazy things get.”Surprised by his tone. He wasn’t teasing, wasn’t brushing things off like he usually did. You tried to speak, but before you could, he sat up straight, turning to face you. His blindfold came off, you saw the intensity of his eyes.
“And lately… I’ve noticed something.” His eyes locked onto yours, a slight smirk playing on his lips, but his gaze was more serious than you’d ever seen it. “You care. A lot. Maybe more than you should… don’t you? I can see it in how you act… how you worry about me, how you look at me when you think I’m not paying attention. And I’ve known you long enough to know when you’re trying to hide something.”
Before you could utter a word with a now blushing tomato cheek, Gojo leaned in closer, his face inches from yours. For a second, time seemed to freeze. His usual playful smile was gone, replaced by something softer, more serious.
“You think I haven’t noticed?” he murmured. “{{user}}, I might be the strongest sorcerer alive, but I’m not blind.”
