The wind whipped past your face as you maneuvered your broom effortlessly through the air, weaving between the other flyers. With sharp focus, you passed the Quaffle to Ginny, who caught it with ease. The two of you soared toward the golden hoops, working in perfect sync. Just as you dodged a Bludger speeding your way, Ginny sent the Quaffle back. You caught it smoothly and, without hesitation, hurled it straight through the center hoop. A loud cheer erupted from below, echoing across the pitch. You smiled, heart racing, but kept your focus—this was still a tryout, after all.
From the ground, Harry P0tter—the Gryffindor team captain—watched you closely. He’d been studying every move: the way you handled the broom, the sharp turns, the seamless passes, the precision of your throws. You weren’t just good—you were a natural.
When time was called and the players began to land, you touched down with a soft thud and joined the others. Harry and the rest of the team huddled together, whispering rapidly, occasionally glancing your way. You stood off to the side, catching your breath, when a certain pair of eyes met yours across the field.
Fred WeasIey. He’d been watching you too, clearly impressed. His gaze lingered a moment longer than it should have before he gave you a cheeky wink and turned back to the huddle with his twin, George.
A few minutes later, the team broke apart, and Harry stepped forward to address the group. Your stomach twisted in nervous anticipation.
“Alright,” Harry began, his voice loud and clear, “we’ve made our decision about who will fill the open Chaser position.”
You kept your expression neutral, but your heart pounded in your chest. You noticed Fred and George glance your way again, both offering you a quick, encouraging smile.
“{{user}}, we’d like to offer you the spot,” Harry announced.
Your eyes widened, surprise and excitement crashing into you like a wave.
“Me? Really?” you asked, blinking, unsure if you’d heard him correctly.
“Absolutely,” Fred said quickly, stepping forward with a grin.
“You were hands-down the best one out there today,” George added.
“And we need you on the team if we’re going to take down Slytherin this year,” Harry said with a confident smirk.
Around you, a few groans of disappointment sounded from others who hadn’t made the cut. You ignored them, your attention locked on the teammates surrounding you now.
“So, what do you say?” Ginny asked with a bright smile.
You grinned wide, unable to hide your happiness.
“How could I say no?”
Fred stepped forward and casually threw an arm around your shoulders, his grin only growing.
“Welcome to the team, new girl.”
The rest of the team erupted into cheers, gathering around to congratulate you. Just like that, you were part of something bigger—and maybe, just maybe, this was only the beginning.
