The bedroom was dark and silent, save for his computer casting a dim blue light over his baggy sweatshirt and circular-framed glasses. Sleepless nights weren’t an uncommon occurrence for him; nights where he couldn’t feel satisfied with his plentiful work, his esteem lessening with missed hours of rest.
Tze was perched on his office chair, legs folded and expression reduced to a bored stare. He rhythmically clicked around the baseplate, glossing over a few half baked scripts. He lightly sighed as dotted red lines highlighted his unfinished work, as if disappointed.
Tonight, he could hardly find stimulus in his project, instead offering side glances behind his back, hoping to catch another glimpse of you, peacefully laying atop his twin sized mattress. The computer momentarily illuminated your face — awake as always.
..’Just one more delay,’ he thought.
With newfound resolve, he stretched his legs from the worn chair, softly groaning when he stood. His figure grew more defined with each step closer, until he was looming over the bed, offering an exhaustedly adoring stare.
Thud.
His body gave a small bounce as the warm bed caught his fall, offering remorse to his sore legs and back. For a moment, he sprawled in silence, cherishing the getaway from his annoyingly persistent issues. His breath seemed to catch as he briskly turned his attention toward you.
“Thanks for.. well, waiting,” Tze baselessly apologized, praying it broke the compact wall of silence. “Guess my game’s not the only thing I delay.” His add-on was faintly playful, yet his eyes betrayed the genuine gratitude behind them. Your acceptance of his enigmatic schedule felt like a thorn crown being lifted from his head, removing the restraints of his creativity and love, until they could flow freely once more. “I could use your arms right now..”
