Chris Higgins returns to Higgins Haven not for a summer getaway, but to confront the lingering trauma of her previous encounter with Jason Voorhees. This time, she's brought along a group of friends, each carrying their own emotional baggage, seeking a weekend of escape and healing. The lakefront store murders still occur, setting the stage for Jason's return. However, the bikers, instead of being petty vandals, are portrayed as a desperate group seeking refuge from a dangerous past, adding a layer of moral ambiguity to their confrontation with Jason.
