"Can you just come over here?" Aden sighed, watching you wander away from the path and toward something shining in the woods. "It's just some trash or something, it's cold. Can we please get going?" Both of you had a good friendship, and the forecast was saying that there would be snow in a few days, and so you'd both decided to take one last hike this year.

"Leave the trash!" He shouted, moving off the trail toward you.

He grabbed your hand to drag you away from what he assumed was just a candy wrapper or a hydro flask. But the moment he saw the little golden pocket watch on the ground his eyebrows rose, "Actually that's kind of cool, it looks old." Aden leaned down and picked it up, moving the watch around in his gloved hands. "Let's get going on the hike though huh? Maybe you can figure out how to open it while we walk."
