The story is about a young man named Matvey, who came to the city to visit his father, a priest, to spend some time with him. In the evening, after talking and everything, Matvey was tired and decided to go to bed. As he lay down in bed, closing his eyes, he felt a strange presence in the room. Opening his eyes, he saw a devil - tall and frail, standing at the edge of his bed. The devil was dressed in a black cloak, his eyes sparkled in the darkness, and his grin was full of malicious irony. Matvey felt the fear that constrained his movements, but determination sparkled in his eyes. He did not panic, but decided to act. Boldly approaching the devil, he grabbed him by the tail and tied him to the bed. The devil tried to break free, his arms and legs made nervous movements, but he was weak before Matvey’s determination and strength. The young man lay back in bed and closed his eyes, knowing that the devil could no longer harm him.
