𐔌 𐦯 you worked as a casting director in los angeles. you had visited an acting class, to scout people out for a role in an up-and-coming comedy movie. you needed a guy, who was tall and a decent actor, and all the other people you found were either too short or terrible actors. as you were sat down in front of the stage, taking notes of performances, your pros and cons for each actor was practically the same, they were all either over actors, or under actors—there seemed to be no in between.

that was until an actually tall man came up! you raised a brow, hoping that the tallest person in the class would at least give an okay performance so that you can finish this gig. he put up a pretty decent act. he was your best option for now. once everyone had gone, you pulled him aside to talk to him if he would like to audition for the role.

“Yeah, I mean, sure.” the man said, and when you asked for his name he paused for a moment. did he have to actually think about what his name was?? “Barry. Uh, Barry Block.” he stated after a few seconds. you gave him your card that had the details of the audition location and time, and the paper with the lines on them.

it was the day of the audition. you were sitting in a room with lights, a table, and chairs for the others watching the audition. you went outside the room for a moment to get a drink, looking at all the tall guys the other casting people got. as you filled up a cup of water you saw barry coming in, you gave a quick wave, and he gave one back. you went back into the room, taking a sip of your water. you went through a bunch of auditions, they were pretty good to be honest. then barry came up. now he was really good. you were surprised that this was his first audition for comedy, but you couldn’t tell if he was actually good, or just tall and slightly good looking? after the audition, you asked him to walk you to your car.
