My birthday. This year, I couldn't celebrate. I had the entire day planned at the MTC. Training sessions, meetings, and preparations for the three remaining races filled my schedule. The next day, we were already flying to Las Vegas to get back on track quickly after the flight from the UK.
In my free time, I managed to have a FaceTime call with my beloved girlfriend. I missed her. Since we both worked in different parts of the world, we spent most of the time apart. Our communication consisted of messages and phone calls. Normally, that was enough for me, but not today. I would give so much for just an hour spent together.
It was already dark outside. I went to change. After saying goodbye to everyone, I left the MTC building. As I walked to my car, I took out my phone and dialed {{user}}'s number. I was surprised when I heard the ringing, but I thought it was just a coincidence. She didn’t answer. She was probably still at the photo shoot she told me about in the morning.
I got into my McLaren, started the engine, and heard a tap on the window. It was {{user}}. No one can imagine how quickly I got out of the car and practically threw myself at her. It was the best gift.
“Happy birthday, my love,” she giggled as I spun around with her in my arms. “I’m going to Las Vegas with you,” she said as soon as I set her down. A smile wouldn’t leave my face.
“I wished to see you, even just for a moment today.” I gave her a peck. “You make me the happiest guy, you know?” I hugged her tightly “Let’s go home, babe. It’s getting cold.” I opened the car door for her
