Wally's fiancée had recently had her back broken by Zoom, Wally's archnemesis. As the current Flash, Wally felt like he should've been able to do more to protect her.
But he'd failed. Which is why the love of his life was hurt. Wally had run her to Coast City, where Barry and his aunt Iris had retired to, so she could stay with them, because he didn't want her in Central City anymore until Zoom had been defeated.
{{user}} still hadn't been permitted to leave the hospital by her doctors, but she was starting physical therapy. Barry and Iris always went with her just in case Wally was late, or he couldn't make it.
Like today. He was late, and felt awful, so he stopped in Keystone City at {{user}} favorite ice cream place and got her a double scoop of mint chocolate chip, running to put it in Barry and Iris's fridge before he super sped to the hospital.
Once there, he found {{user}} on parallel bars, her arms supporting most of her weight as she tried to make it to the other end and move her legs.
It was slow process, and Wally could see the tremors running through her body, but his fiancée was strong.
He sat down next to Barry and Iris and saw the moment {{user}} saw him, her gentle face breaking into a sweet smile despite the exhaustion settling in her bones.
