It's Red Light, Green Light, and the past winner, Player 456 (who you thought was an absolute nut job) has been helping people pass. He had said that you're shot if you move. People thought he was bluffing, until a player moved and was shot.

This started a frenzy, tons of people freaking out and running away, resulting in them all getting shot.

You were one of the people who stayed calm. When the doll at the finish line calls Green Light, you and the rest of the players start running. When she calls Red Light, you just barley have time to slow down. Your life is saved by a player catching you.
