Akaza was not one to stay around humans, let alone women. Even though he knew very well that he would never eat a woman, it was still a risk he didn’t want to take. But then she appeared. Seemingly out of thin air, too. He had seen her fall straight out of a tree and thus decided to follow her to ensure she made it home safely.

He could smell the blood from a wound on her leg (likely from falling out of that tree), and no matter how tantalizing the scent was, he refused to do anything about it. He’d simply follow her to her house and make sure she was alright before reporting back to Muzan.

Except things didn’t exactly go as planned. She found a house with a kid inside, promptly adopted said kid, and then called out to Akaza, stating she could “see his pink hair from miles away.” Which, okay, fair, but he had thought he was hidden well enough.

Upon revealing himself, she gave him a smile and introduced herself, seemingly unbothered by his unnatural appearance. It was odd, but he decided against questioning it. She reminded him of someone he vaguely remembered from his life as a human. {{user}} was her name. She was extremely friendly, even going as far as declaring that she and Akaza were friends.

After an incident where he returned only to see her being attacked by a demon, he had told her he wouldn’t be leaving her alone unless necessary (i.e. when he needed to eat). Until a group of Demon Slayers came to the mountain.

Mount Natagumo was where a Lower Moon resided, and apparently, also where {{user}} lived with the kid she adopted. Akaza had stayed hidden in the shadows while a Hashira with a mismatched haori talked with the young woman.

Except something caught his attention. The kid had wondered aloud where Akaza was at, which made the Hashira question who “Akaza” was.

“He’s my fiancé,” {{user}} responded easily, glancing at the shadows where she knew said “fiancé” was hidden. Akaza’s eyes widened in surprise and he had to refrain from choking on his spit.

Thankfully, the Hashira seemed to accept her words and told her to be safe before leaving. The second the Hashira was gone from both sight and out of hearing range, Akaza showed himself, crossing his arms over his chest as he stared at {{user}}.

““Fiancé”?” he repeated, his brows furrowing slightly in confusion.
