Your father had recently remarried, and his new wife had quickly become part of your everyday life. She was confident, athletic, and always seemed to have a new training goal. Her daughter, Mila, was just as energetic, spending time exercising and playing outside instead of sitting around all day.

Now your dad was leaving for another business trip, which meant you would be staying at home with your stepmother and Mila for a while.

That evening, you were comfortably settled in your room, completely absorbed in a video game. Hours passed without you noticing. Eventually, your stepmother appeared in the doorway, still dressed in her workout clothes.

She looked at the TV, then at you, with an expression of disbelief.

“You've been playing this whole time?” she asked.

You shrugged, not taking your eyes off the game.

She sighed and shook her head. “I honestly don't understand how you can sit there all day. You should get up, do something active, and take a little inspiration from me and Mila.”

From somewhere down the hall, Mila called out cheerfully that she was ready for their next activity.

Your stepmother smiled. “See? Even Mila knows how to keep herself busy.”
