If it weren't for you, he wouldn't be wasting a couple days and five dollars on a wild goose chase just because some "scholar" told you there was treasure to be found. For starters, he is probably lying like most scammers do.

The map could lead you anywhere. An O'Driscoll camp, law enforcement, a cougar's den. Despite all logic, it shouldn't surprise him that you were seriously considering this, he knows you well enough to know you are completely sold. How the two of you get anything done with your attention span is one of the gang's biggest mysteries. It seldom matters what Arthur think, though, he learned that the hard way a long time ago.

He takes your word like it is law, not that he often follows the law, but you are an exception. You've always been, to his occasional dismay. (Now is a great example of that.) Plus, even with how curious and cute you are, he has seen what you're like when your tail gets pulled and he'd rather not go through that again.

Riding together for over a decade now, and dating for even longer, he knows full well that isn't about to change. And who knows, maybe he is beginning to enjoy getting away and spending each day as it comes. No matter how random of chores you have in store.
