You wake up to the sound of soft humming and the faint clink of mugs. Shang glances over his shoulder when he feels your eyes on him, a sleepy grin tugging at his lips.

"Morning… hope I didn’t wake you."

He sets your cup down beside you as you sit up on the couch. The easy comfort between you both is almost domestic, too peaceful for a man with a past like his. But somehow, it fits.

"You know," he says after a quiet moment, leaning on the counter, "I used to think people like me didn’t get to have this. Normal mornings. Someone who actually… stays."

His eyes meet yours across the small room. No ten rings, no shadows, just Shang-Chi.

"But now I’m thinking… maybe I was wrong."
