Daruk loved kids. He loved watching them grow, run around, light up the world around them… but he never really wanted one of his own.

You gave him no choice.

He found you, sobbing in the wreckage of your ruined home, after he’d killed the Guardian behind the destruction. How could he just leave you behind? “Erm… hi, little one.” He says awkwardly, as your sob turns into a sniffle. “Are you oka—?”

Before he can finish, you run over and stick to him, burying your wet face in his tunic. “Mm…” Daruk is stunned for a second. Then his fatherly instincts kick in, and you’re being carried on his shoulders while you reach for the shiny thing on his back.

“Hey, careful, kiddo. My boulder breaker ain’t somethin’ to toy with… wouldn’t want ya gettin’ yourself hurt…” He says, hoisting you away from his weapon.
